Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice preferably fresh for bright flavor
  • 2 ounces smoky tequila choose a good quality tequila with smoky notes
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup for added sweetness
  • 1 cup ice cubes plus extra if needed to adjust texture

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring spoons

Method

  1. Add the lime juice, smoky tequila, honey, and ice cubes to your blender. Secure the lid tightly.
  2. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and the ice has been broken down, creating a semi-frozen, slushie consistency. This should take about 30-45 seconds.
  3. Check the texture; if it’s too watery, add more ice and blend briefly again until thick and frosty. If it’s too icy, add a splash more tequila or a bit of water to loosen slightly.
  4. Turn off the blender and give the mixture a quick stir with a spoon to ensure even distribution of ingredients and a consistent slushie texture.
  5. Scoop the frozen margarita slushie into chilled glasses. Garnish with lime wedges or a sprinkle of salt on the rim if desired.
  6. Serve immediately to enjoy its refreshing, icy texture and bold flavors. Cheers!
