Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh citrus juice (lemon, lime, or orange) preferably freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup vodka good quality
  • 1 tablespoon honey or simple syrup adjust sweetness as desired
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs (mint or basil) roughly chopped
  • 1 cup ice cubes or crushed ice

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Add citrus juice, vodka, honey, fresh herbs, and ice cubes to the blender.
  2. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and the ice is finely crushed, creating a thick, icy slush.
  3. Stop the blender and check the texture—should be granular and icy but soft enough to scoop.
  4. Taste the mixture and add more honey or juice if needed for sweetness or tartness; briefly blend again to combine.
  5. Pour the slush into chilled glasses, garnishing with small herb sprigs or citrus slices if desired.
  6. Serve immediately with a straw or small spoon, enjoying the refreshing, aromatic burst of flavors and icy texture.

Notes

For a more intense herb flavor, muddle herbs slightly before blending. Adjust alcohol content by increasing or decreasing vodka ratio. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute more citrus juice and skip the vodka.
