Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk chilled, whole or your choice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract for a milder flavor
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or honey, maple syrup, or sweetener of choice

Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing bowl or jar
  • Spoon or stirrer
  • Freezer or ice cube tray

Method

  1. Measure out the milk and pour it into a mixing bowl or a sealable jar.
  2. Add the vanilla bean paste to the milk, letting its aromatic scent fill the air as you stir gently.
  3. Stir in the sugar until it dissolves completely, creating a smooth, sweet vanilla base.
  4. If using a jar, seal it tightly; if using a bowl, cover it with plastic wrap.
  5. Place the mixture in the freezer and allow it to chill for at least 2 hours, stirring or shaking every 30 minutes to prevent ice crystals from forming large clumps.
  6. Once the mixture looks thickened and slushy with small ice crystals, give it a final stir to incorporate any frozen bits and achieve an even, velvety texture.
  7. Scoop the vanilla slushie into chilled glasses, uncover, and serve immediately to enjoy its creamy, icy texture and inviting vanilla aroma.

Notes

You can add a splash of milk or a few extra ice cubes if the mixture is too thick. For a more intense vanilla flavor, increase the vanilla bean paste. For an even creamier texture, blend with a frozen banana or a dollop of whipped cream before serving.
