Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups whiskey your preferred brand
  • 1 cup simple syrup adjust sweetness as desired
  • 1 cup water hot or warm for easier mixing
  • 2 cups ice cubes enough to create a slushie texture
  • 1 tbsp citrus juice optional, brightens flavor

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Combine the whiskey, simple syrup, water, and citrus juice (if using) in a measuring cup or small bowl, stirring until well mixed and the sugar dissolves.
  2. Pour the liquid mixture into the blender and add the ice cubes.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth, thick, and reaches a slushie consistency—this takes about 30-40 seconds.
  4. Check the texture—if it’s too watery, add a few more ice cubes and blend briefly again.
  5. Once ready, pour the slushie into chilled glasses, allowing the icy mixture to settle slightly for a decorated look.
  6. Serve immediately with a straw or cocktail stirrer, enjoying the refreshing, icy, and aromatic flavors.

Notes

For an extra flavor twist, garnish with a lemon twist or a sprig of fresh herbs. Adjust sweetness by modifying the simple syrup amount. Chill glasses beforehand for an extra cold presentation.
